Ingrid Newkirk Honors Two Unstoppable Animal Advocates

PETA President Ingrid Newkirk is no stranger to sticking her neck out for animals. So recently, when her speaking tour, Unstoppable—which advocates taking action for animals—traveled to London, she took some time to protest the cruel and deadly laboratory experiments that the U.K. Ministry of Defence (MoD) conducted on 57 marmosets last year.

But exposing the MoD wasn’t the only reason for Ingrid’s visit to jolly old England. While there, she also had the much more pleasant honor of awarding two fellow activists for their compassion for animals.

The first award, PETA’s Compassionate Citizen Award, went to Rishi Patel, a young man who works seven days a week simply so that he can donate more earnings to children, the poor, and animals. Rishi’s commitment to those most in need is inspiring, and we can’t wait to see what wonderful things he does in the future.

Ingrid also presented PETA’s Compassionate Business Award to Wills London, a company that produces vegan shoes and accessories. Wills proves to the fashion industry what readers of this page already know—that stylish, high-quality products can be made without exploiting animals, humans, or the environment. Founder Will Green was on hand to accept the award.
