“[W]e live in a toxic food culture. Junk food companies spend billions of dollars trying to keep us hooked. And, in all their years of medical school, most doctors learn next-to-nothing about food or nutrition.”
—John Robbins, Baskin-Robbins heir turned vegan and bestselling author of Diet for a New America
Heart disease, cancer, Alzheimer’s disease, and diabetes are among the leading causes of death in the U.S.—and they’re all largely preventable. That discovery led John Robbins to turn his back on his Baskin-Robbins fortune and dedicate his life to helping people get healthy while healing their relationship with animals and the planet at the same time. This year, one of those people could be you!
Robbins has brought together 25 of the world’s top health, disease, and nutrition experts for the 2022 Food Revolution Summit, taking place online from April 23 to May 1. He will be chatting one-on-one with each of these experts to help you discover “how you can optimize your immune system and prevent heart disease, cancer, obesity, type 2 diabetes, fatigue, poor sleep, memory problems, and other health challenges—with simple, wholesome, and delicious food!”
Topics will include the following.
- Foods That Harm, Foods That Heal: For example, as top cardiologist Dr. Joel Kahn (who’s also a former winner of PETA Prime’s Most Beautiful Vegan Over 50 Contest) explains, dietary saturated fatty acids, which are commonly found in meat and dairy products, often lead to obesity and heart problems. Every time you make a healthy swap—say by choosing a tofu scramble instead of eggs—it’s like you’re writing a love letter to your heart.
- Plant-Powered Protection: Clinical researcher, professor of medicine, and author Neal Barnard found that developing Alzheimer’s disease is not a natural part of aging. Our chances of suffering from it depend on what we put on our plates. Saturated fats and cholesterol encourage plaque buildup in the brain, while vitamin E (found in almonds, pistachios, and flaxseeds) works as a preventive.
- Foods That Beat Cancer: Did you know that cow’s milk does a body bad? A study commissioned by the National Cancer Institute and the World Cancer Research Fund International determined that by drinking cow’s milk, a woman increases her risk of breast cancer by as much as 80% compared to drinking soy milk. World-renowned breast cancer surgeon Dr. Kristi Funk will discuss the latest findings on cancer prevention.
Experts will also discuss how protecting ourselves helps protect our planet and the other animals we share it with—and the entire event is completely free. So, what are you waiting for?
