5 Ways PETA Is Helping Animals in Laboratories This Week

  1. After a decade-long PETA campaign, Air France has finally joined every other large commercial airline and agreed to ban shipments of monkeys to laboratories! Amid reports that EGYPTAIR is still flying monkeys to their deaths, our supporters unfurled a banner beside the airline’s counter at John F. Kennedy International Airport in New York to remind the company that “cruelty doesn’t fly.” Meanwhile, tormented “monkeys” in Manila and London ramped up the pressure even more.
  2. Blindfolded PETA Asia supporters gathered for an attention-grabbing protest at food conglomerate Ajinomoto’s annual meeting in Tokyo, urging company executives to open their eyes and end the cruelty and wastefulness of its tests on animals.
  3. PETA Senior Vice President Daphna Nachminovitch penned a poignant opinion piece asserting why Envigo—which is closing down in the wake of our investigation– and its parent company, Inotiv, must immediately give every surviving beagle in its Virginia facility a chance at adoption—instead of prolonging their suffering and selling them to laboratories for experiments.
  4. Actor and Detroit native Lily Tomlin has joined PETA in slamming Ford Motor Company for apparently “shifting into reverse” and resuming archaic crash tests on animals.
