One PETA Member’s Inspiring Activism for Animals in Laboratories

Janet Regier always finds creative ways to help animals. As dedicated members of PETA’s Augustus Club and Vanguard Society, Janet and her husband, Jerry, are passionate about ending all animal abuse and exploitation—often focusing their activism on shutting down factory farms, ending the Iditarod dog-sled race, and getting animals out of laboratories.

As a consumer of only certified cruelty-free beauty products, Janet began visiting nail salons and handing out PETA literature explaining why every shopper should avoid products that were tested on animals. She was handing these booklets to customers at a CVS cosmetics counter near Harvard University when a CVS representative assembling free gift bags for incoming students offered to include PETA’s literature!

In true activist form, Janet immediately contacted her PETA representative and requested hundreds of our informative booklets and fact sheets—ultimately reaching 250 Harvard students.

This literature could inspire future leaders in medical, scientific, and legal fields to advocate for animals—even within the walls of their own school—and help create a future in which no animal is condemned to suffer in a laboratory cage.

PETA is honored to have Janet and Jerry alongside us in the fight to end all forms of speciesism.
