5 Ways PETA Is Helping Animals in Laboratories This Week

  1. After PETA learned of the deaths of three bats, the worsening conditions of an ailing horse and an underweight sheep, and other appalling violations at Colorado State University (CSU), we’re demanding that the school’s president take responsibility for animals’ suffering and help end it.
  2. PETA supporters also protested cruelty to birds at CSU with a powerful demonstration calling for an end to Gregory Ebel’s deadly and useless West Nile virus experiments.
  3. As the world reacts to grotesque footage showing S. Marines beheading snakes and drinking their blood, we’re urging the commandant of the U.S. Marine Corps never again to allow animals to be tormented and killed for survival training. We’re also renewing our call for the U.S. Department of Justice to leave animals out of trauma training exercises.
  4. PETA “mice” scurried to another lecture by National Institute of Mental Health Director Joshua Gordon, reminding him that the agency needs to ban horrific tests on animals and switch to human-relevant research methods.
  5. PETA Australia is shining a spotlight on the horrors that three baboons likely endured at a hideous breeding facility in New South Wales—even before they were condemned to a hospital laboratory and escaped during transport.
