Pepper, a lonely “outdoor dog,” was rescued by PETA fieldworkers after they discovered her in a backyard without food or water. Her ears were bloody from the incessant biting of flies, and the chain wrapped around her neck was so tight that it had rubbed her skin raw. Thanks to the work made possible by PETA supporters, today Pepper lives indoors in a loving home with a retired couple who give her all the care and affection that she’d been denied for years.
