PETA Dumps 44,000 Petitions at Texas A&M President’s Office

Were you one of the PETA members who helped us collect 44,000 petitions to Texas A&M University (TAMU) telling the school to shut down its abusive and deadly dog laboratory? Now you can watch us deliver them all to university President Michael K. Young’s office.

The petitions were addressed to Young along with lead experimenter Joe Kornegay and Dean Eleanor M. Green of the College of Veterinary Medicine. PETA had made signers aware of the disturbing canine muscular dystrophy experiments being performed on dogs at the school. The petition pointed out that dogs used in these experiments struggle to walk and even eat as their esophageal muscles atrophy. And it noted that despite decades of testing, these studies have failed to produce a cure or even an effective intervention for muscular dystrophy in humans. Petitioners urged Young, Kornegay, and Green to do the right thing: End the experiments, shut down the dog laboratory, and give the remaining dogs a chance to be adopted into loving homes. Many signers added their own personal messages.

Watch as PETA supporters deliver all the petitions to Young’s office:

We will end these experiments. We will get TAMU’s dog laboratory shut down. And we will see all the dogs there rescued and given a chance at the life that they deserve.

Keep bombarding the school with messages—and know that your voice is being heard.

TAMU: WE WILL NOT BE SILENT
