They look familiar. That’s the point.
The Humanimals are life‑size, carved and painted figures—each one a cabinet that opens to reveal what’s inside.
On the outside: the animal idioms we casually use to describe people.
On the inside: what humans do to the animals behind those words.
They ask one simple question:
What if we stopped using animals as metaphors—and started seeing them as individuals?

Meet Sheepish
A quiet New England librarian, bundled in wool—from her sweater to her skirt to her cable‑knit stockings and mittens. Warm. Orderly. Unassuming.
And then you look inside.
Her interior tells the story that wool hides: painful mutilations, fear, and an industry that discards sheep when their wool production declines.
Wool comes from sheep, who feel every cut.
She’s here to make it impossible to ignore.
