Compassionate CEO Profile: Tiana and Mia of Lolli Wraps

We recently sat down with Tiana and Mia of Lolli Wraps to learn the ins and outs of starting an animal-friendly company!

Can you share the inspiration behind starting a vegan company?

Starting Lolli Wraps as a 100% vegan brand was nonnegotiable. We’ve always believed that style shouldn’t come at animals’ cost. It’s not just about harnesses and accessories. It’s about making a statement that fashion can be kind, fun, and totally guilt-free without compromising on quality and ethos.

Of the many innovative vegan leathers on the market, what drew you to using corn leather?

Corn leather was a game-changer for us. We were looking for something unique, durable, and comfortable that was also kind to animals and the planet. Not only does it tick all our ethical boxes, it also has a wonderful quality and feel to it. This is our way of showing the world that sustainable materials can be just as enjoyable and strong as animal-derived leather. Plus, it’s a conversation starter. Who knew corn could look so good? We considered other plant-based leather options such as pineapples, fungi, and apples but ultimately landed on corn leather due to its super-soft quality and ability to move comfortably with the body.

As cofounders, how do you envision the future of the vegan fashion industry? And what role does your company play in shaping the future?

We dream of a future in which choosing vegan options isn’t just a niche but the norm. We’re here to show that ethical fashion is beautiful and totally desirable.

Which of your products are you most excited to share with others?

It’s got to be our corn leather products. We offer a variety of designs and materials, but any design we release in our corn leather receives the most praise from our customers in reviews and in person. As soon as customers get to feel the leather, they can see for themselves what all the hype is about. We are excited about the innovative direction textiles is taking with vegan leather and will continue to research and embrace new developments in this space.

Are there any challenges or misconceptions about vegan leather that you encounter? How does your company address them?

We often bump into myths about vegan leather—that it’s not durable, comfortable, or planet-conscious. Our products are proof that vegan leather can be just as luxe and long-lasting as traditional leather or, in our opinion, even more so. Lolli Wraps exists in a niche industry in which animal-derived leather holds the majority of the market, so we’re always educating our customers and creating a safe and open space to ask questions and keep an open dialog. It’s a topic that’s close to our hearts, so we approach the conversation with kindness.

How have your customers embraced the “PETA-Approved Vegan” logo?

Seeing our customers’ positive reactions to the “PETA-Approved Vegan” logo has been wonderful. They recognize the logo and see it as a symbol of trust. It’s more than a logo for us. It’s a promise to always stay true to our values.

What advice do you have for other businesses looking to transition to animal-friendly practices?

My biggest piece of advice if you’re thinking of going vegan is to do your homework and be transparent with your customers, share your story, and embrace ethical alternatives. Find a like-minded support network to lean on, and remember, every step counts. Let’s do this together.
