5 Ways PETA Is Helping Animals in Laboratories This Week

  1. In case you missed it, Louisiana State University has been ordered to pay PETA’s legal fees and turn over records relating to Christine Lattin’s cruel experiments on songbirds.
  2. Progress! After a PETA complaint, the U.S. Department of Agriculture is cracking down on the illegal transport of primates—and now the notorious animal supplier Charles River Laboratories has been cited for transporting animals without the necessary veterinary inspections.
  3. Following our demands for action, a circuit court judge has given the Madison, Wisconsin, district attorney a deadline to confirm whether his office will intervene in behalf of the monkey Cornelius—who’s imprisoned and in despair at the Wisconsin National Primate Research Center. Meanwhile, our traveling “Without Consent” exhibit stopped in Madison to show students what individuals are enduring in the school’s laboratories.
  4. PETA U.K. supporters unfurled a massive banner near the University of Bristol ahead of the school’s “open day” (i.e., when the public is invited to visit), protesting its refusal to stop subjecting frightened animals to the horrific forced swim test.
  5. At the same time, PETA and PETA Australia have secured a victory against the vile forced swim test, as Macquarie University has banned the absurd and pointless experiment.
