More than 1,000 homes have been destroyed by the deadly tornadoes that ripped through Kentucky and seven other states. Dozens of people have been injured, have died, or are still unaccounted for.

Humans are not the only victims. Countless companion animals and wildlife who survived the tornadoes are also likely injured or lost, waiting for the help that they desperately need.

PETA will always be there for animals affected by natural disasters. That’s why we sent a donation to the Mayfield-Graves County Animal Shelter in Mayfield, Kentucky. Thankfully, the shelter wasn’t destroyed, and employees and volunteers are assisting with efforts to reunite lost animals with their guardians.
