A Legacy Challenge Opportunity

As you know, PETA’s vision is to stop animal abuse and bring us closer and closer to a cruelty-free world. Since our beginning four decades ago, we’ve given people who care about animals a meaningful way to support that enormous goal. Our supporters have helped us change the world for the better for animals.

However, our work is nowhere near being done. Until no monkey, mouse, or rabbit suffers at the hands of experimenters; no hen is confined to a filthy shed; no terrified sheep is stomped on and cut during shearing; no bear paces in a dismal concrete pit at a roadside zoo; no dog languishes on a restrictive chain in all kinds of weather; and no animal suffers and is slaughtered for the most trivial of human interests, we’ll vigorously pursue our groundbreaking work.

The members of PETA’s Augustus Club have helped enormously to ensure that our progress continues through their legacy gifts. Today, you can help strengthen the foundation necessary for PETA to do even more to make our shared vision of a cruelty-free world possible.

Last year, a small group of generous PETA donors established the Legacy Challenge Fund, so if you confirm at any point during this month a contribution to us as a beneficiary of your will or another planned gift, your future gift will immediately unlock a donation to PETA of up to $5,000 from the fund!

How the Legacy Challenge Works

  • Step 1: Name PETA in your will or living trust or as a beneficiary of your retirement or financial account, or notify us of a planned gift that you’ve already established.
  • Step 2: Share some details of your gift and the estimated value at PETA.org/LegacyChallenge by May 31.
  • Step 3: PETA will immediately receive a contribution of up to $5,000* from the group of generous donors who have established the Legacy Challenge Fund.

There’s still time to participate, but please act soon to unlock an immediate gift at no cost to you. If you’ve been considering leaving a legacy gift—or perhaps you’ve already included PETA in your plans—now is the best time to let us know!

*Contributions will be made as long as funds are available. In order to activate the maximum donation, you must disclose the estimated value of your gift. This is not binding, and we recognize that your circumstances may change. If you don’t disclose the estimated value, your notification will activate a donation of $500 from the Legacy Challenge Fund.
