Do you remember the first time that you read Charlotte’s Web? Many of us have fond memories of the animal-friendly books from our childhood, and the compassionate lessons they taught have stayed with us for life.
To increase access to these kinds of animal-friendly stories, PETA is launching a first-of-its-kind program called PETA’s Compassionate Library Project. We’ve partnered with underserved schools in the Deep South to bring books with messages of empathy, compassion, and respect for all sentient beings to elementary school classrooms. Studies have repeatedly shown that such stories give children the tools that they need to grow into compassionate, responsible adults.
We want to provide 50 classrooms with humane libraries, and we need your help before the new school year begins!
We need to raise $15,000 by August 30 in order to provide schools with books that will inspire the next generation to protect animals—and create a kinder, less violent world for everyone.
Be a part of this groundbreaking project to inspire compassionate kids by visiting the Compassionate Library Project page to make a special gift today.
If you can’t donate today, you can still help by spreading the word and sharing this fundraiser on your social media accounts.
Together, we can help kids become readers—and compassionate leaders.
