Victoria and Joel (and Nugget) clearly had a great time during the photo shoot. Love those moves, guys! And as you can see, Victoria and Joel embody all the qualities that the SVO50 contest celebrates—compassion, intelligence, self-confidence, humor, integrity, and vibrance, not to mention sex appeal.

Both Victoria and Joel help animals and promote vegan living in a variety of ways. Victoria is the director of Main Street Vegan Academy, which trains and certifies vegan lifestyle coaches and educators. She has written a number of books, including Main Street Vegan and The Good Karma Diet, and she’s currently working on a new vegan cookbook called A Coach in Your Kitchen. We know it’ll be fantastic, because while at PETA’s Los Angeles HQ, Victoria whipped up a colorful Aztec Salad, which everyone agreed was delicious as well as nutritious. Watch her easy cooking demonstration here:

Joel is not only a practicing cardiologist, he also helps run a vegan eatery called GreenSpace Café. He, too, is a writer, and is working on a book about the health benefits of a vegan lifestyle—his fourth book to date. He’s a professor at Wayne State University School of Medicine in Detroit and has joined the Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine to protest the school’s cruel experiments on beagles. He’s also appeared on billboards urging people to go vegan to prevent heart disease, cancer, and diabetes.

And that’s not all. To learn more about Joel and Victoria and their impressive accomplishments, read the Prime blog announcing the 2016 SVO50 contest winners.

Speaking of impressive, vegan, and sexy, Jane Velez-Mitchel, who shot these videos, is a loyal PETA supporter who often reports on PETA’s activities. She’s also written a book, Addict Nation: An Intervention for America, mentioning the U.S.’ unhealthy food addiction.

With these inspiring folks in our corner, it’s no wonder that vegan living is becoming so mainstream. But we need your help, too. Please do everything you can to promote vegan living and help animals. Maybe consider entering PETA’s 2017 SVO50 contest?
