PETA recently released an inspiring new video series titled PETA Reveals to help everyone get to know some of the group’s dedicated staff members. The short documentary series features powerful stories from 10 individuals who recognized animal suffering and became determined to take action.
Please take a moment to watch Christina Sewell, PETA’s assistant manager of clothing campaigns, explain how a brief but memorable encounter with a slaughter-bound pig reminded her that she isn’t helpless to stop animal suffering and prompted her to keep working to assist other animals. In “A Last Act of Kindness for a Pig Propels Her Own Activism Today,” she explains her mindset when she attended her first slaughterhouse vigil, where she provided thirsty pigs with water as transport trucks turned into the slaughterhouse where the animals would be killed.
You can find out what—or who—motivates other staff members by watching all 10 PETA Reveals videos, including ones by a laboratory investigations specialist who learned how to stand up to big corporations by watching a caged monkey’s attempt to stop another’s abuse, an attorney pushing the boundaries of the law to establish fundamental animal rights, an eyewitness investigator who saw shearers abuse sheep on two continents, and more.
