Who Will YOU Be This Halloween?

PETA has a long tradition of producing some of the most talked-about Halloween costumes imaginable, from Dr. Anthony Fauci and Tiger King villain “Joe Exotic” to a smiling block of tofu—and this year’s no exception!

Do you remember when PETA called out Pete Davidson for somehow thinking that buying a puppy from a pet store was a better option than adopting a lonely dog from an animal shelter? His response was an unhinged, expletive-filled voicemail left for a well-respected and hardworking PETA staffer. This Halloween, PETA will help you poke fun at the comedian’s ghastly behavior and remind your neighbors to adopt instead of shopping, with our new Pete Davidson costume. This ensemble has it all—a Davidson mask featuring a “#$@!%” baseball cap (since the real words he used were less than family-friendly), a stuffed dog wearing a “Shelter Dogs Rule” bandana, and a black hoodie with “I Should’ve Adopted” printed on the front.

If dressing as a comedian isn’t your style, how about raising awareness of animal captivity with our Angela the sun bear costume? After Angela was seen standing up in her prison cell at a Chinese zoo, rumors swirled that she was really an employee in a costume, not an actual Malaysian sun bear. The truth is far less meme-worthy: Angela is a real bear in very real distress. She deserves better than enduring a lifetime of captivity.

Wearing our sun bear costume will get the conversation going. Your friends will recognize the viral sensation behind the look, but you can fill in the blanks by spreading awareness of the plight of animals used for entertainment. Our “Stand Up for Sun Bears” costume, available from the PETA Shop, includes a hoodie, a bear mask, pairs of bear paw gloves and bear paw slippers, and a “Stand Up for Sun Bears” sign.

Want to be something scary this year? We think Pete Davidson is the perfect villain to terrify everyone you come into contact with. But prefer engaging in activism without dressing up like a jerk? We don’t blame you. Wear our Angela costume this scary season to remind trick-or-treaters that animals are here with us, not to entertain us.

While you’re thinking about who you’ll be this Halloween, remember that costumes and animal companions don’t mix!
