Help Animals With PETA’s Year-End Planning and Giving Guide

This has been a uniquely challenging year. If this pandemic—brought on by the exploitation of animals—has proved anything, it’s that we must do more to shut down live-animal markets, veer away from factory farming, and stop wasting time and lives on archaic animal experiments.

Even a small donation will go a long way toward supporting PETA’s work to give animals a life free from suffering in 2022. A donation may also prove helpful for you during tax season!

Your IRA Can Make an Animal’s Day

You can make a charitable gift from your individual retirement account (IRA), which will help power PETA’s work to protect animals while also providing you with tax benefits. Talk about feeding two birds with one scone!

For those age 70½ and up, a qualified charitable distribution from your IRA can reduce your taxable income while fulfilling your minimum distribution requirements. (Note: In response to COVID-19, Congress has waived the annual required minimum distribution from an IRA for 2020.) You can also name PETA as a beneficiary of your IRA in order to leave a generous legacy for animals. Get more information and see eligibility details by following the link below.

A Donor-Advised Fund Changes Lives

If you have a donor-advised fund (DAF), PETA has an online tool that can help you use it to support our vital work for animals.

You may also consider planning a legacy of compassion for animals—which is easy to do with a DAF. PETA’s legacy gifts planning team can explain how to designate the final distribution of contributions to your DAF after your lifetime, helping animals in your memory for years to come.

Join the Legacy Giving Community

Are you familiar with PETA’s Augustus Club? This group of committed, compassionate individuals was formed in memory of Augustus, a monkey who suffered through violent experiments at the Silver Spring laboratory in Maryland—the focus of one of PETA’s landmark cases against cruel experiments on animals. Members of the club are recognized for leaving a legacy gift to PETA in their will, in their trust, or by beneficiary designation.

The Augustus Club recognizes that without dedicated supporters like you, PETA’s achievements for animals would not be possible. Its members receive tailored updates on our campaigns, special event invitations, and opportunities for a personal behind-the-scenes look at our work. We hope you will consider including PETA in your legacy planning.
