Vegan iPhone Apps

Because I didn't grow up with computers and other assorted electronic devices all over the house (let alone in the car or even my purse), I was a bit slow in putting apps on my iPhone. I have owned an iPhone for two years, but it wasn't until recently that I even knew how to add apps. One day, a friend who was visiting from out of town pulled out her newly acquired iPhone and showed me four screen pages of apps—the majority of which were vegan. I was amazed and decided right then and there that I had to have some vegan apps on my own phone.
Here is how you can get started right now. All you need to do is click the App Store icon on your iPhone and type the word "vegan" in the search box. My phone listed 56 app choices—some apps were free, and others charged a small fee. I found vegan restaurant guides, recipes, cooking lessons, and even whole cookbooks. There are vegan beer and wine lists, and a compendium of animal—derived ingredients that you may not have ever heard of, which can be very handy in a grocery store. There is even a PETA app called "Be Nice to Bunnies" (BNB)—which lists all the companies that do and don't test on animals.
You can find dog parks, vets, and even groomers close to your home. When you are traveling, you can find the nearest location of just about anything you would need. I feel as if a whole new world has just opened up to me. It's like having the local yellow pages in your pocket or purse.
For those of you who haven't seen PETA's blog from April 23 ("Apple's Animal-Friendliest Apps"), here is a link. The blog features an extensive list of vegan apps to get you started. Have fun!
What are some of your favorite iPhone apps?
