How about the topic of pedigreed cat and dog breeders who purposely breed more cats and dogs to “better” the breeds? How about cat and dog shows in general?

I would truly like to see more VEGAN outreach. Why? Because I am an animal rights activist, and I want to see animals FREE from murder or any kind of exploitation. There is no way to make exploitation more “humane”. The only way to end suffering is to realize that animals are not ours to do what we please with (even if we think we are treating them nicely). No more excuses! No more “humane” lies. Go vegan now!

I’d like to see a list of companies that I can write letters to regarding their use of animal testing, advertising animal-abusive products, celebrities that are still wearing fur, etc.

For instance, I just started getting PEOPLE Mag as a gift from a friend and found a 3-page Premarin ad in the June 8th issue. I was shocked and am starting a letter writing campaign today!

I see a lot of articles for “cutest vegetarian” and “Sexiest Celeb Vegetarian”, I feel that looks are nowhere near as important as a person’s character and accomplishments. What we do here on earth is important to the planet and the sustainability of it for future generations. I would like to see more about influential people in the vegan and vegetarian community. I think it would beneficial for us to see and meet average vegan and vegetarian persons that are involved in our global activism. I would like to see what they are doing in their local communities to benefit not just animals but the environment also. Titles like “most involved in animal shelters”, “most green vegetarian or vegan”, or “biggest local impact” are what I think would bring our scattered vegetarian/vegan communities even closer together.

I would like to see lists of people we can write to, to stop the abuse,
I would like to see lists of food we can and can’t eat as a Vegan?Veggie.. I no it sounds stupid but at the start of being a vegeterian i made quite a few mistakes by forgetting things like gelatine is in sweets. :S

I would also like there to be articles on why being vegan or veggie is good.. This site shouldn’t be just for people to talk amongst other Vegans?Veggies it should turn visitors to the page vegan!

I think there should also much more protests everywhere!! Cruelty is hapenning everywhere so lets stop it everywhere even if therees as little as 1 person there.. one person can make a difference.! :) xx

I really liked Dr. Barry Kipperman’s post about pet dental health. How about segments on pet obesity and senior pet care? Articles about which companies are testing on animals and which don’t are always good. What about food products distributed by these companies? (i.e.: Proctor & Gamble distributes Pringles, Lipton is a label of Unilever, etc.) My local newspaper has a Pet of the Week feature that I really like. How about a post about Ginger, the last of the PETA cats? With adorable pictures, please. =) What about various spotlight features on various animal organizations/shelters? (both well known, such as Animal Sanctuary, and small scale, such as the local animal shelter down the road)

I would like more information on how to get involved and more ways to help raise awareness.

I’d like to see topics which are especially pertinent to compassionate people who are 50 and older. General articles on animal rights/welfare/rescue are plentiful on the internet. As are articles on how to look ‘hot’, look fashionable and eat vegan for the younger crowd. But, there’s precious little out there for baby boomers of this bent. So, why not have a vegan fashion column for this generation? Or ideas on how to help animals if you are downsizing your life and moving into an apartment? Or something on vegan singles? Or being an in-law/grandparent to someone who doesn’t share your values? Or travel/dining columns? Or maybe whole food eating ideas for singles and couples who want to extend their time of healthy aging? Or making a will to insure your pets will be cared for if something happens to you? I’m thinking the AARP magazine (yes, I think it’s good and I’m in my early 50’s), but with an emphasis on older people who care a lot about animals.
